Plastics Group of America Upgrading Its Woonsocket Production Facility

Changes Will Positively Impact Efficiency and Working Environment

(Woonsocket, Rhode Island – November 9, 2016) – Bob Lebeaux, president at The Plastics Group of America (TPG), announced a number of projects in process that are designed to improve both production efficiency and worker safety at its Woonsocket facility.

Always striving to provide the best possible working environment for its employees, The Plastics Group of America recently installed a new air purification system in its Woonsocket production plant. The Air King industrial air cleaners capture most airborne nuisance particulates – the self-contained filtration units continuously pull contaminated air through multiple stages of highly efficient micro-glass filters. The filtered air is then re-circulated back into the working environment without the need for duct work.

The company is also is the middle of implementing an extensive water reclamation system at the plant. Started last year and requiring a significant financial commitment on the company’s part, the project involves the installation of extensive new plumbing and storage tanks that will circulate water used in production back for re-use, filtering it so that it is over 95% clean. The system will ultimately allow the company to save tens of thousands of gallons of water each week.

Finally, TPG is in the middle of investigating the installation of a solar energy system on the roof of its 1112 River Street location. Bob Lebeaux commented on the company’s consideration of going solar – “with solar being one of the cleanest and most abundant energy sources available, it makes sense for TPG to carefully evaluate the benefits derived from adding solar power to our operation. This project will require a substantial financial commitment on the company’s part, but we ultimately believe that it will be worth the effort.”

Bob concluded by stating “each of these projects will lessen our environmental footprint as a manufacturer while optimizing our production capabilities. We look forward to implementing the latter two at some point in the future to complement the recent installation of our air filtration system.”
